Tattoo Removal
Reliable - Safe and Clean - Affordable
This is a gentle procedure in which the tattooed area is irradiated selectively
with a certain laser wavelength. The extremely short-pulsed ruby laser was
specifically designed for dermatological and cosmetic treatments.
We remove tattoos using laser technology which, using the ruby laser, is kind
to the skin. These are the latest state-of-the-art lasers, which operate with
different wavelengths and thus work on different colours, intensities and
textures on both professional or amateur tattoos and can be successfully removed
without scarring.
In the case of a tattoo where the colour has become part of the skin and which cannot be removed easily from the tissue, the laser will interact with the area being treated and physically destroy the colour so that it can be gently removed from the tissue.
• The laser treatment is mostly painless.
• In most cases, scar-free results can be achieved.
• If requested, an anaesthetic can be provided during treatment.
• For a complete tattoo removal, the amount of treatments vary according to colour and depth of the tattoo. 3-8 treatments (sometimes more) may be required. These treatments generally take place at intervals of 4-6 weeks.
• On a small tattoo, e.g. 6cm x 6 cm, a treatment session can last between 3-5 minutes. For larger tattoos, e.g. the entire upper arm, you will need approximately 40 minutes.
• The easiest colours to remove are black and red pigments. The more difficult colours to remove are purple, yellow and white.
• What is the cost to remove a tattoo? These are dependent on size, the nature of the tattoo and the colours used. For an indication of cost, visit us at our offices for a free consultation. If this is not possible, send us a photo of the tattoo, its size and as much background information as you can so that we can prepare a quotation for you.
Post-treatment care of the area.
Special post-treatment care is not required. Applying a disinfectant cream is recommended though. A scab will form and this should be allowed to fall off in its own time and not be touched or scraped off. We recommend an initial gentle wash the day after treatment. When washing or drying, caution should be taken so that the scabs are not forcibly removed!
The most important measure, however, is consistent sun protection. For the first four weeks after each treatment, the treated area should not be under direct sunlight and sunbeds should be avoided.
People with darker skin tone should be aware that, in a few cases, lighter skin patches can develop on the treated area initially.
Are there any side effects?
Overall, the YAG laser technology is safe for all ages, without complications, and gentle on skin. After treatment you will feel heat in the treated area. Immediately after the treatment, the skin on the treated area will, in about half an hour, produce a white ash which then becomes a dark scab and which will eventually drop off after 1-2 weeks. Do not forcibly remove the scab. Once the scab falls off naturally, you will notice the skin is fairly red. This is normal. Please note that for tanned skin, it is possible that a lighter skin colour develops initially. These will disappear on their own within a few months. For this reason, it is recommended to avoid sun exposure.
Can make-up be applied?
Yes, once the scab has fallen off, make-up can be applied.
Can I shower?
Yes. Gentle washing of the treated area should be considered. Make sure,
however, that any crusts are not forcibly removed. No loofahs!!!!! ?
